Stanley Ho group sells another business in Portugal

Via Marítima, a company of Portuguese group Sousa, of Madeira, will buy the entire share capital of Portline Containers International (PCI), the Portuguese Competition Authority said.

The notice published on the website of the Competition Authority, which is analyzing the acquisition because it is a concentration process, said PCI, which is based in Portugal and transports containerised goods, provides a trade link with Cabo Verde and Guinea-Bissau, in West Africa.
The Portuguese business press reported that the divestment by Stanley Ho’s group in Portline Containers International follows the sale of its shareholding in the Portmar shipping agency and Portline Logistics to the Terminal Multiusos do Beato (TMB) group.
The Sousa group, in turn, owns Madeiran shipping company Empresa de Navegação Madeirense (ENM), which has been in operation since 1907 and is the oldest Portuguese shipping company, as well as Box Lines, which it acquired from the bought the Sonae Group in 2010 and another 80 companies in various business sectors.
